Ferentino Stadium
This is a multifunctional complex, a project initiated in 2011 and presented in 2014. The design proposal aims to create a new urban hub connected to the city’s fabric, considering the particular position of the current stadium in relation to the city. The stadium, in fact, is the core of the broader project adjacent to the urban area and can be considered an integral part of the city and a reference point for sports and cultural events.
The concept behind the City of Sports in Ferentino addresses the need to redevelop and define a new urban layout, where facilities of collective interest flexibly meet the broadest needs of the community.
The structure of the new stadium consists of four rectangular blocks, housing the stands, connected by four corner towers. The four towers, rising as a distinctive feature of the facility, will also serve to anchor the cables, specifically designed to support the roof.
The functions included within the facility comprise areas reserved for the sports club, a Hospitality Area with a large dining area with refreshment points and services, private skyboxes, stages, pitch view, a highly specialized Sports Medicine medical center, a training and rehabilitation gym, a wellness and beauty center. There will be other functional, managerial, and commercial spaces with medium-sized retail structures and neighborhood and distribution businesses. This way, they will provide a functional mix that ensures these facilities are used throughout the day.
The stadium is designed to accommodate about 4,000 covered seats/spectators, expandable, and includes 4 separate sectors with independent entrances and exits, each equipped with refreshment points, first aid, and services according to the D.M. March 18, 1966.
In the area adjacent to the stadium, a multisport hub is planned, consisting of multifunctional playing fields immersed in greenery for football, basketball, tennis, and padel, while outside the stadium, there is a complete athletic track, jogging track, also usable as a bike path. The project also includes a school structure with classrooms that can be used by local educational institutions.
The Feasibility Study will be implemented through a renovation with the demolition and reconstruction of the Ferentino “City of Sports” Stadium, an operation made possible under Article 1, paragraph 304, letter a), Law December 27, 2013, n. 147 and subsequent amendments (known as the Stadium Law).
