Sports City Feasibility Study Presentation

On 12/14/2022, the Feasibility Study of the new City of Sports was submitted to the Municipality of Ferentino, through the so-called “Stadi Law”; therefore, an administrative process is being initiated that will end with the eventual approval of the project and the construction of the work. Initiated as early as 2014 through the project financing formula, the update of the new project, which takes the form of the application of the aforementioned “Stadiums Law,” is a complex work in itself. In fact, the facility will come to include, not only the Stadium as the central part of the work but also functions related to the sports sphere, with the involvement of all present and future disciplines of the territory and services, health, management and commercial, as suggested by the indications expressed by the Uefa regulations for the latest generation Stadiums. The name Sports City, which originates from the original Project submitted in 2014, is due to the additional presence of an athletics track, 11- and 8-a-side soccer fields, multi-purpose courts for basketball, volleyball, tennis, and padel courts in addition to a running and biking path and outdoor areas for events and other cultural activities. The added value, evident from the preliminary stages, was to devise an urban reference center of sports type, usable by the whole community, however small, compared to other territorial realities and in turn the City, without financial burden for the Public Administration, will be able to offer with continuity the sports activity to its community, with a reference pole for the City and the surrounding area. It is evident that, the success of such a project, self-sustainable, in a small reality such as the city of Ferentino, goes to define an effective pilot model and, above all, replicable elsewhere. https://www.aurorastadium.it/pf/la-citta-dello-sport-di-ferentino/
